About Me

Hello, I'm Dr Nina Corlett (PhD), founder and Director of Sacred Pathways Counselling & Dementia Services.
I am a Certified Practising Counsellor, Dementia Doula, Chaplain, Educator, and passionate advocate for person-centred care.
Throughout my career, I have been privileged to walk alongside people during some of life's most challenging and vulnerable seasons. Whether someone is navigating dementia, grief and loss, trauma, anxiety, depression, caregiving, or significant life change, my hope is always the same: that they leave feeling heard, supported, empowered, and less alone.
My work is grounded in the belief that every person has inherent worth, dignity, and a unique story that deserves to be honoured. I am deeply committed to creating a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where people can explore their experiences, reconnect with their strengths, and move forward in ways that are meaningful to them.
Alongside my professional training, my own experiences of adversity, healing, and growth have shaped both who I am and how I work. These experiences have deepened my understanding of vulnerability and reinforced my belief in the power of compassionate connection.
I hold a Master of Counselling Practice and draw primarily on Narrative Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in my counselling work. I offer support to individuals, couples, families, and small groups through both face-to-face and telehealth appointments.
Beyond my private practice, I am passionate about building more compassionate communities and increasing awareness of the value of counselling, dementia support, and emotional wellbeing. I currently serve as Convenor of the South Australian Leadership Group of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).
When I'm not working, you'll often find me making music, directing a community choir, immersed in a good book, walking in nature, or sharing time with family and friends. I am also the proud mum of three resilient and courageous young adult children, and one of my greatest joys is watching their lives continue to unfold.
At the heart of everything I do is a simple commitment:
Compassionate Care. Meaningful Connection. Walking Together.
My Story
Every journey deserves compassionate companionship.
The name Sacred Pathways grew out of something I have witnessed repeatedly throughout my work. Life is made up of journeys. Some are anticipated. Others arrive unexpectedly.
A dementia diagnosis. The changing role of a family caregiver.
The experience of grief and loss. Questions about identity, purpose, faith, and belonging. The realities of ageing and transition.
These experiences can feel overwhelming and isolating. Yet they are also deeply human. I believe there is something sacred about walking alongside people during these seasons—offering compassion, presence, and support without judgement or expectation.
What Matters Most
At the heart of Sacred Pathways is a commitment to:
Compassionate Care Meeting people with kindness, empathy, and respect.
Meaningful Connection Creating spaces where people feel heard, valued, understood, and less alone.
Walking Together Offering support that accompanies rather than directs, empowers rather than takes over, and honours each person's unique journey.
I acknowledge the Kaurna people as custodians of the lands and waters of the Adelaide region, recognising their enduring connection to the land I live and work in. I am inspired by their commitment to maintain a strong cultural, spiritual, physical and emotional connection with their land, waters and community. I pay respect to elders both past and present, and seek to walk the path of reconciliation for a shared and just future for all.
I believe every person deserves to feel seen, heard and valued. I welcome people of every age, ability, culture, faith tradition, sexual orientation and gender identity. My practice is grounded in compassion, dignity, curiosity and respect. Whether you are seeking counselling, dementia support, education or spiritual care, you will be met with warmth, professionalism and person-centred care that honours your unique story. Everyone deserves a place where they belong.
